Solar Eclipse in Taurus + Eight of Cups

Moving on

Eight of Cups shows up when it’s time to move on to pastures new. In the card you can see the Moon eclipsing the Sun as a lonely figure leaves under cover of darkness. They’re leaving their comfortable old life, symbolised by eight golden cups, in search of something more, something deeper, meaningful and emotionally fulfilling.

The rocky landscape suggests the journey may not be an easy one, but if we follow the metaphor of climbing a mountain to move closer to God/Source/whatever you believe is higher and greater than us, then the challenge will have been worth it.

Tonight’s New Moon Solar Eclipse is in Taurus at 18:45 GMT. Eclipses represent instability as the light from the Luminaries is temporarily disrupted. As the power surges and flickers back to life it initiates a new beginning. Exciting times!

The eclipse is happening close to the North Node which represents our karmic destiny. What this means is we’re being gifted an opportunity to let go of the past, realign with our intended path and move closer to our future self.
