Past Lives, Spirit Guides and Dead People.

Since my 20's I've been told by mediums and psychics that I have what’s know as 'the gift'.

But I didn't really know what 'the gift' was or how I was supposed to get it!

After my Reiki Master attunement the gift started to appear in the form of psychic abilities. I was delighted but unprepared for the dramatic expansion of awareness and the nightmares that accompanied it, nightmares so intense I started dreading bedtime. I shut down and rejected my gift and the nightmares stopped. I was relieved but very disappointed that my subconscious fears that were playing out in my dreams would block it from ever coming back.

Little did I know that the decision to be a Tarot Reader would unlock it again 7 years later!

It's a well known fact that Tarot helps deepen your intuition but I started noticing I knew things in the readings that weren't coming from the cards themselves. At first I was reluctant to tell the client in case I was wrong but every time I did I was either spot-on or close. I'm learning to trust what comes through and grow in confidence each time I'm proved right. This is claircognizance, or clear knowing, one of the five main psychic abilities. If you've ever 'just known' something was going to happen you're experiencing claircognizance.

I've had lots of visions and amongst other things saw a Native American woman I now know as my Spirit Guide, Lozen. Known as the Apache Joan of Arc for her heroic and mystical acts defending her people she was a prophet, medicine woman and freedom fighter in the 19th century. I'm enchanted by her story and those of you that know me well may remember my obsession with the other Joan of Arc, so she's the perfect guide for me! I've also seen the Goddess Isis and a serene Christ-like man who I believe are also guiding me at the moment. The ability to see is clairvoyance. It doesn't come as naturally to me as claircognizance and the images I receive are just for me, I don't see in readings yet. It's common in creative, right brained people, so if you enjoy visualisation or have an active imagination you may find clairvoyance easy to develop.

Next came a download of past life information during a regression meditation. I discovered I was one of the prestigious Vestal Virgins in Ancient Rome and devoted 30 years of my life to keeping the eternal flame burning in the Temple of Vesta, Goddess of the fire. My name was Claudia (my daughter's name in this lifetime!) and I saw my flowing white robes, gold coiling rings and bracelets and hair and a face completely different to how I look now. It was pretty trippy! This was a combination of clairvoyance and clairaudience, clear hearing. It can difficult to discern between the voice of our intuition and our fear based mind chatter, but if you've ever heard a calm clear message, either during meditation or when you've really needed help, that's clairaudience.

But the most exciting development has been bringing through deceased loved ones of people I'm reading for. This comes to me as a sensation in my body, clairsentience, I can feel how the person died or the physical ailments they suffered from when they were alive. This is an ability I've had since I first started giving Reiki when I could feel what was going on for my clients either physically, mentally or emotionally, but now it's coming through in the form of mediumship, or communication with Spirit. A 'gut feeling' is an example of clairsentience, or as our Grandmas used to say 'a feeling in your waters'! It's the ability most humans connect with at some point in their lives and every single one of us is born with psychic skills even if we never connect with them. If you've managed to read this far I guarantee you've identified at least one of the clairs that you've already experienced...ergo you're psychic!

The nightmares have come back and are just as terrifying but they're getting less frequent and this time I'm older, wiser and in a much more secure place within myself to work through it. I also have a wonderful partner who fully supports my journey and makes me feel safe when I wake up in the middle of the night kicking and screaming (yes, really).

This time I'm actively welcoming and developing my gift and I can't tell you how happy I am to finally be walking this path. As always I'm excited to share my journey with you all.
